HTML BuilderAt its simplest, scentwork is training the dog to find a specific scent on cue. Different methods of training are possible, dogs can be trained to find a variety of scents, and the dog's indication can be passive (sit when finding a scent) or active (actively retrieving the scented article). There are a number of groups in the UK that are involved with scentwork/nosework. Scentwork can be as easy as teaching your dog to find bits of cheese in your lounge, to as complicated as teaching bomb detection to police dogs. It is all based on using the dog's natural abilities, and most dogs are capable of learning to find a scent. Most dogs LOVE scentwork.
